Future Work

We are currently in the manufacturing parts phase in which materials are gathered and parts for the display are cut. A torsional pendulum clock has also been ordered and we await its arrival in order to begin to modify the mechanism in order to attach it to the display. This will be done with a four bar quick return linkage in order to change the date on the display daily. During this time, a compression chamber will also be designed and fabricated. This chamber is what will power the clock and move the display.

These parts, ideally, will be manufactured by the beginning of March in order to begin assembly and fine tune any adjustments that need to be made. Testing will proceed in order to verify our measurements and theory are correct and then a long-term timekeeping analysis is conducted in order to confirm the clock’s 100 year operation.
