Final Design
Our final design is a basic prototype which future design teams can use to test forces and energy consumption in order to improve the overall design. The final design displays the date using the Clayton Boyer Perpetual Calendar and keeps accurate time using the Kundo All-Mechanical Torsional Pendulum Clock. The display parts are cut out of Lexan, a light polycarbonate material. The date display and clock are connected by a whitworth quick return linkage.
A bellows will be attached to the torsional pendulum clock in order to run the entire system. The bellows will be connected to the clock by the clockâs winding key.
