Our Team

Chad Adams

Chad's specialty in the team is Team leader where he helps plan team logistics and ensures proper communication to team members, advisors, and sponsors.

Chad is a senior mechanical engineering student at the Florida State University. He was an undergraduate research assistant at the High Performance Materials Institute conducting research on carbon nanotube piezoresistive sensor application, and is currently a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers formula team working on the suspension subsystem. His career goals are to focus on design engineering with emphasis on computer aided design. Chads hobbies include backpacking and motorcycles.

Luis Figueroa

Luis's specialty role in Team 14 is the lead mechanical engineer.

Mr. Figueroa is a senior in the mechanical engineering program at the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering. He transferred from Florida State University Panama in 2012. Luis is a determined and diligent individual and compliments the team well. He is working towards finishing his engineering degree with a specialization in thermal-fluids and an end goal of employment in a manufacturing company as means to gain real world experience and continue his education.

Austin Houser

Austin's role in Team 14 is the team treasurer, where he will help keep track of the team budget, including all expenses.

Austin is a senior Mechanical Engineer at Florida State University. He will graduate with a BS in the spring of 2016 with a minor in Physics. Austin's career interests lie in thermal fluids and heat transfer. In his free time, Austin enjoys traveling and creating music.

William Mauch

William's specialty role in Team 14 is to control the logistics and information flow for the team website.

William is a senior mechanical engineering student at Florida State University. He also holds a previous bachelor of science in Physical Science with a minor in math. He currently is a teaching assistant for Mechanics and Materials II and previously interned at USNR as a mechanical design engineer intern and assisted with research at the Applied Superconductivity Center. His career interests including working in engineering design as a design engineer. In his free time he enjoys playing golf and watching FSU football.
