Travis Hett (Project Manager) |
Computer Engineering (FSU) |
Travis Hett is the project leader and is studying at Florida State University. He is a Computer Engineering Major with minors in Physics, Math, and Computer Science. Throughout college, he obtained fluency working in C, C++, VHDL, and assembly code. Relevant working experience came over the summer working for the IT department of Control Southern INC. An engineering company located just north of Atlanta, GA. This internship was combined with a program set up by the Navigators organization that was centered around leadership and character development.Travis has held many leadership roles while working in teams during his time at FSU. This has given him much experience working in groups. Creating better understanding of team dynamics and how to manage the different conflicts and situations that may arise during the project. |
Gabriel J Mendoza (Lead Computer Engineer) |
Computer Engineering (FSU) |
Gabriel J Mendoza is a Computer Engineering Major at FSU, also pursuing minors in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. Through courses taken, he has gained proficiency in VHDL, C++11, Assembly Code, and Microcontroller Programming, as well as with using the Linux interface and scripting. This past semester, he worked an internship for a management consulting firm as a Software Engineer. While there, Gabriel learned web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) as well as using version control systems (i.e. GitLab). While at this internship, he contributed to a couple open source projects, one of which, went live.On this project, Gabriel served as the Lead Computer Engineer, and played a key role in programming, testing, and debugging the RoboSub. He also contributed in the video processing part of the sub. These skills, along with his ability to lead and contribute to a team environment, made him a vital asset to this RoboSub team. |
Laneicia Gomez |
Computer Engineering (FAMU) |
LaNeicia Gomez is a 22 year old undergraduate student at Florida A&M University. She is currently in her last year of studies to become a Computer Engineer. Alongside of her studies, she is also a Peer Tutor for mathematics at Florida A&M University. She devotes many hours to helping other students with all math subjects ranging from Developmental Math to Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. Everyday LaNeicia moves forward in her career by learning new software languages or bettering her knowledge such as Java, C#, C, C++, and others. She is always willing to implement the knowledge she has gained to solidify what she knows. LaNeicia has been able to complete her undergraduate studies with scholarship funding from multiple places. For example, Florida Bright Futures and Florida A&M University scholarships have helped tremendously to make gaining a higher education easier. For this project, LaNeicia will be contributing her programming skills to help lead this team to a successful end result. One of her goals for this project is take everything as a learning experience for working on a team of different engineers. |
Brandon Anderson (Lead Mechanical Engineer) |
Mechanical Engineering (FSU) |
Brandon is a senior at FSU pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. As the lead Mechanical Engineer on the team, he is committed to establishing a working mechanical design of the different parts of the sub that fully integrate with the computer and electrical aspects. Brandon is a good team worker with great public speaking and writing skills. He is key in this project as a bridge between the aspects of the different engineering disciplines involved. Brandon's goal for this project is to better understand working with all types of engineers across multiple disciplines, and learning to come together with other engineers as a team to bring a single working product to fruition. In the future, he aspires to enter the Aerospace field, and work with great engineers to explore the facets of space and flight. |
