| More serious than the loss
of the primary weapon system for the previous competition was the
failure of the drive train. A wall impact caused belts in the drive
train to slip and disengage.
To eliminate any slip problems, chains were applied in the new
drive train for the Battlebot. The setup is very similar to that of
the previous year, simply replacing belts with chains and pulleys
with sprockets (See Full Report for
details), and rerouting the power transmission away from the center
of the chassis. |
