Improving International Education and the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Over the years, Dr. Moses has been involved in academic and educational projects at international level. One of the international partnership projects was sponsored by the United Negro College Fund Special Programs (UNCFSP) with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This project, awarded in 2001, was aimed at “Integrating New Technologies and Information Systems into Transportation Education in Tanzania,” specifically at the University of Dar es Salaam, College of Engineering. The major achievements of this project included the establishment of a modern transportation engineering computer laboratory for students to undertake field and laboratory data collection, simulation, and data analysis using modern hardware and software.
In the following photograph taken in December 2001, Dr. Ren Moses is in discussion with the transportation faculty at the College of Engineering, University of Dar es Salaam at the start of the project aimed at improving transportation education. The project established a faculty exchange program that led to two faculty members from the College of Engineering visiting the Florida A&M University to learn about new research, teaching, publishing, and consulting tools that can be replicated at the University of Dar es Salaam.
