Matthew Gerstenblitt



Matthew Gerstenblitt was elected as the IME lead, because of his experience working in research and development, as well as hia project management skills. Matthew will continuing his education at Cornell University in August, studying Engineering Management.





Enrique Gonzalez



Enrique Gonzalez is a senior Industrial Engineering student and was elected the team’s Safety Inspector, because he has experience working in machine shop management, as well as supervising manufacturing and job shop production lines. Enrique was in charge of monitoring the progress of the project, as well as informing the team of any potential safety hazards. He plans to apply to an international company and start his own business later in his career.

Maria Vetencourt



Maria Vetencourt is a senior Industrial Engineering student and was elected the team’s business analyst, due to her background in business management and her experience analyzing the business applications of technical projects. Maria was in charge of research for the project, informing the team of the previous actions taken on this project. Maria has accepted an offer to begin working at Georgia-Pacific in the fall.





Patrick Howard



Patrick Howard is a senior Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student and was elected the team's Material Analyst. Patrick has extensive experience with automobiles and landscaping equipment, with a unique perspective on the approach to the palm harvester project. Patrick plans on working as an engineer in Orlando.





Gabriel Diez



Gabriel Diez is a senior Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student and was elected as the ME Lead. Gabriel has experience in mechanical design and machining from his undergraduate studies. Gabriel was instrumental in creating the design of the current harvester. He will be attending Purdue University in August, studying Aerospace Engineering.





Derek Morin



Derek Morin is a senior Electrical and Computer Engineering student elected as the group’s webmaster, due to a background in web design for multiple companies. He has experience in several languages, including HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java, C++, Python, and XML. Derek assisted Alberto in selection of parts for the system, as well as creating/designing/updating the website. After graduation Derek plans to work in Tallahassee, while studying for and taking the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.





Alberto Machado



Alberto Machado is a senior Electrical Engineering student elected as the ECE Lead, due to his extensive leadership experience in managing individuals. Alberto designed the layout for the electronics, as well as selected most of the parts to be included on the project. He will be graduating in December, and will attempt the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. Afterwards he plans on working for a major firm in the US.
