Ernest Etienne

Ernest is a senior at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, and is expected to graduate with his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2015. He is interested in material processing and is working on obtaining his certificate of specialization in Mechanics and Materials. Currently, he is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers. Upon graduation, Ernest intends to work in industry . Outside of engineering,  he enjoys recreational fitness activities and works as a certified personal trainer at FSU's campus gym.

Cody Evans

Cody is a senior at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, and is expected to graduated with his B.S. in Industrial Engineering in May 2015. Born in Oregon, Cody has lived in Southwest Florida from 1996-2012 when he moved to Tallahassee to attend FSU. After graduation he plans on working in industry, and is interested in statistical quality control, project management, and business simulation. Cody is currently employed as an undergraduate research assistant at the college, working under Dr. Hui Wang at the High Performance Materials Institute.

Sonya Peterson

Sonya is an FSU senior mechanical engineering student expecting to graduate in 2015. It is still uncertain where she would like to see herself following graduation; with sustainable practices and traveling being staples in her life, she hopes to progress the movement for a greener future and construct better living standards for every person on the planet to benefit from. Being born in the restaurant business meant moving all around the eastern United States while growing up. St. Augustine, Florida is now her current home away from Tallahassee. She loves drawing and painting, the beach, and food.

Basak Simal

Basak is an FSU student studying Mechanical Engineering and she will be graduating in Spring 2015. She has not claimed a specialty but has studied thermofluids and manufacturing. She is a member of SWE (Society of Women Engineers) and a club officer for ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). After graduation she plans to take the FE Exam and aims to work in manufacturing industry. She is thinking about pursuing an advanced degree within a science background as learning continuously is very important to her. She also has about 3 years of undergraduate research experience.

Daphne Solis

Daphne is an FSU senior student pursuing a dual major in Industrial Engineering and Actuarial Sciences, and she will be graduating in 2015. She is interested on the fields of quality engineering, industrial systems, and engineering management. After graduation, she plans on attending graduate school in order to gain more knowledge about one of her fields of interest. Currently, she is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. She is a Six Sigma Green Belt, and she is looking to obtain a Six Sigma Black Belt certification in the future. After finishing her graduate studies, she is planning on gaining some working experience and then administrating her own business.

Sam Yang

Samuel is currently an undergraduate student enrolled at Florida State University, and he will be graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in Spring 2015. He is specializing in the aeronautics field and is a member of the AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics). He is uncertain about his plans for the future, but he will be seeking for a job relevant to his major prior to graduation.  Sam was born and raised in Florida, and he loves being active and is conversational in Mandarin Chinese.
