Collin Heiser
Team Leader
Collin Heiser is currently a senior of mechanical engineering at Florida State University and will be graduating in the spring of 2015 with a specialized track in thermal fluids. He has had a project management internship with Jarden Consumer Solutions in the summers of 2013 and 2014 and plans on bringing that experience to the design project.
Bryan Anderson
Financial Advisor
Bryan is a senior graduating in May of 2015 with his BS in Mechanical Engineering. He works as the team's financial advisor ensuring the project is allocating their resources in the most productive way. Bryan hopes to move forward using his engineering degree to analyze the social fabric that governs the world's finances.
James (Ben) Richardson
Team Leader (brazil) / Lead Mechanical Engineer
Ben is a senior graduating from Florida State University in May, 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently working in Curitiba, Brazil at Universidade Federal do Paraná performing research using a prototype alkaline membrane fuel cell with a team of American and Brazilian students. His effective communication skills have helped foster the continuing success of this international team. .
Mustafa Nek
Web Master/ Assistant Mechanical engineer
Mustafa is a senior in mechanical engineering with a thermal fluids track. As a previous tutor in math and sciences for Florida State Universty, he believes success is a part of hard diligent work as everything does not come easy to everyone. His experience with Adobe programs makes him a great web editor.
Nicole Alvarez
Assistant Mechanical Engineer (Brazil)
Born and raised as a military child, Nicole has had the opportunity to grow up around the world, including many states in the USA, Italy, Argentina, and Bolivia. She is currently studying mechanical engineering at FSU and has held internship positions with Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney. Her work within and outside of school has grown her interest to pursue a career in the aerospace industry.
Dr. Juan Ordonez
project advisor / mentor at FSU
Dr. Juan Ordonez is an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at FSU and is the principal coordinator for the Thermal Modeling and Management Group at CAPS. He obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Duke University in 2003, and has research interests in sustainable energy systems, thermodynamics, heat transfer, etc.
Dr. JosE Vargas
project advisor / mentor at UFPR in Brazil
Serving as a faculty member at the Federal University of Parana (UFPR), in Curitiba, Brazil, Dr. Vargas has served as a cooridinator for the Engineering Graduate Program. His research interests include areas in Energy and Thermal Sciences, thermodynamics, and Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Vargas obtained his Ph.D. from Duke University in 1994.
