LOCK AND RELEASE MECHANISM

A ratchet has been firmly secured into the set up platform. The ratchet engages with a pawl that is fixed on the sleeve adapter side. To release the pawl and let the set up platform drop, a bicycle brake cable was fixed to the pawl, when the user applies force to the handle the cable is pulled back, disengaging the pawl form the ratchet. After the user lets go off the handle, a compression spring has been implemented, so it can push the pawl back into its initial position  leaving the platform ready to be set again for the next drop.
