PROJECT SCOPE/GOALS

The goal of this project is to characterize slip ring performance over the anticipated lifetime of a magnetic probe.  To accomplish this goal, the following must be  completed:

• Design the experimental test bed, which will enable the group to characterize the slip rings, and measure their performance and changes (due to wear) over time

• Design a data acquisition system and analyze all the data collected from the slip rings

• Using conclusions drawn from analyzed data, choose the best slip ring for the application
