Objectives

The objectives of this experiment are two-fold:

1.      To derive Fourier's law of thermal conduction.  To conduct a series of experiments in thermal conduction in order to deduce the relationship between the rate of heat flow, the temperature difference, the cross-sectional area, and the length of travel.

2.    To determine the thermal resistance of metals and to determine the contact resistance between various metal-to-metal contacts.
