Team 511 : Bearing Grinder Safeguard

Working together, we strive to make our project a success and leave a lasting impact.

Abstract

JTEKT, A bearing manufacturing company, has commissioned our capstone team to enhance the safety of their 1967 Besly Dual Disk grinder. The main concern addressed by the project is the risks of users unintentionally placing their fingers in pinch points and danger areas on the machine’s loading area. As such, implementing a new safety standard to protect the employee and minimize workplace injuries while also maintaining the machine’s output efficiency was our goal.
