TEAM MEETINGS LOG SHEET
Project Name: NASA
(Shih)
Team #: 13
Meeting #: 4
Date: 9/15/2008
Discussions:
- We
discussed our “assignments” we had agreed upon in the previous
meeting
- George
had the task of researching flapping wing robots on the market
- Nothing
on the market can do exactly what we want it to do.
- Hovering
seems to be the big issue
- Would
have to build it, off the shelf not possible for ideal
- Pretty
pricey
- We need
to discuss wing shape and available flight data
- Parker
had the task of researching rotary wing robots
- There
are quite a few on the market
- Considered
difficult to fly but possible
- Can
hover and perform the proper tasks
- Brittney
had the task of researching raw materials that could be used for the
making a robot
- There
are quite a few carbon composite and plastic materials available for good
prices
- Some
have to be bought in large quantities (10 ft rolls, etc)
- Josh
had the task of researching cameras, transmitters, and autonomy software.
- They
do make cameras as small as we need
- Video
capture cards can be as much as the cameras themselves
- Autonomy
software is so pricey there aren’t any price tags
Deliverables:
Any extension on the research
Comments/Suggestions:
We are going to get together next time to discuss what we
have learned from more research. Also we are going to prepare the Needs
Assessment and Project Scope.
