Design Concepts

There were several designs we developed during the design phase. Below are the two design we did not ultimately choose

as our final design.

This design uses a 4-bar linkage system for the staking process.
The cylinder on the outside of the chuck moves the lever
arm which use a V-block to pinch the staking tools onto the axle.

This design incorporates a 4 barlinkage system

using a wedge and a roller to control the staking tools.

We felt this design was to close to the current staking

process and would not provide the overall improvement we wanted.
