SLA:  Rapid Prototyping

Typically, the design process is an obstacle course of lead-time and purchase orders.  SLA has smoothed that road of broken promises and delayed progress.  Ordering a prototype has never been so pleasant and
infallible.  The SLA process begins with STL (CAD)files from three dimensional design using IGES, ProEngineer, SolidWorks, DXF, or DWG files.  These files are inputted directly into a computer that controls the SLA laser, which ultimately builds the design, layer by layer.  Basically, the files are inputted into a computer which is linked directly to the laser device.  The laser, with computer precision, cures the resin layer by layer until a perfect prototype is created.  Matt sent the CAD files on a Friday, and by Tuesday of the next week, the prototype was on Jon's doorstep.
