Once
heating is completed, the SAT should reassemble as quickly as possible and
immerse in the water at the prescribed temperature for the amount time
dictated by the specifications of the test. |
|
The SAT is then immersed in the
tank at a depth of 1 meter for 1 hour. Water-soluble
die can be used in the water to aid in spotting and analyzing leakage by
inspecting the internal workings of the package after an hour of
submersion underneath a black light that will reveal even the slightest
trace of die on the inside of the package.
No
die was found on the inside of the package proceeding the immersion test
on the SAT. While our sponsor was seemingly happy, the gasket
selection was somewhat permanent, making it quite unpliable considering
our intentions of designing an SAT that would be accessible over and over
again using the same seal.
