Welcome to the home page for the Team Solid Ox. Take a look at the Upcoming Events for our group. Class OverviewThe Senior Design course at the Florida A&M -Florida State University College of Engineering is a two semester course culminating four years of study in Mechanical Engineering. It draws upon the knowledge students have learned in courses such as Thermodynamics, Materials Science, and Mechanical Systems by providing an arena where this knowledge can be implemented in a practical setting. Project OverviewThe Materials Science and Engineering Department at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is developing a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) research program and there is a need for a method to compare the performance of different cells. The simplest method of comparing different cell designs is to measure the current and voltage characteristics of each cell. Our goal is to design a testing system that will be able to measure the electrical output of up to 3 fuel cells while also providing a mobile demonstration of the working principles of SOFCs. The Sponsors For This Design Project Are: Dr. Peter Gielisse FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Department of Mechanical Engineering Tallahassee, FL 32310
Dr. Comas Haynes Georgia Tech Research Institute Fuel Cell and Battery Technologies Atlanta, GA 30332
