Our Project |
||
Scope: The Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB)
experiment tests a wide variety of materials under extreme loading
conditions- both high pressure and high strain rate- in order to determine
the material's significant dynamic properties.
The SHPB experiment needs an instrumentation upgrade.
There are four main objectives for this project:
Our customers are the members of the Air Force Research Laboratory's Damage Mechanisms Branch- those who review and analyze the data obtained from the SHPB experiment.
Needs Assesments: *Software
must be in Windows-based format *Data
can be retrieved for 10+ years *Data
must be retrievable after system crash *New
software interface must acquire, analyze, and reduce experimental data and
set up the oscilloscope *Software
language has to be easy to learn *Signal
amplifier and conditioner must be chosen for safety *Signal
amplifier and conditioner must be calibrated properly *Design
should be of minimum cost
