The design project gave us some experience with what is expected of an engineer working on a project with a team. As in any experience such as this, there are positive and negative aspects.

The positives:

• Learned the value and importance of teamwork

• Improved our time management and organization skills

• Gained experience with communication skills amongst group members and between group and client company.

• Taught us the importance of being professional

The Negatives:

• Unforseen variables encountered by working with a real company

  • Difficulties with communication due to distance

  • Company unable to give full attention to project

• Had trouble getting materials suppliers to listen to students

Overall, the project was an excellent learning experience that helped to develop our engineering, as well as our interpersonal, skills.
