Introduction/Call for Papers

It has been widely recognized that safety and security are the two major requirements to large-scale critical infrastructures, such as telecommunication networks, electric power systems, smart grid, and water distribution networks. The design, control, operation and maintenance of such systems have posed a significant challenging to the R&D community. This workshop aims at providing a forum for exchange of ideas and dissemination of best research and practice in this field. Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers to the Special Session.

Indicative Topics/Areas

The interested topics include but are not limited to the following:

Safety Issues in Large-scale Systems

Security Issue in Critical Infrastructures

Qualitative and Quantitative Systems Safety and Security Analysis

Systems Modeling and Simulation

Probabilistic Safety and Security Performance Forecasting

Systems Risk and Reward Management focused on Safety & Security Performance

Demonstration of Compliance against Standards and Legal Requirements

Application Issues in Various Systems

Systems Specification & Characterization

Requirements Specification, Analysis and Target Setting

High Integrity Systems Design

Important Dates

April 1, 2011: Deadline for submission of full-length papers to special sessions.

June 1, 2011: Acceptance/Rejection Notification.

July 5, 2011: Final camera-ready papers due in electronic form.
